Villarreal in ambitious bid for Gameiro

Villarreal are considering a summer move on Sevilla forward Kevin Gameiro, Marca has suggested.

The Yellow Submarine are desperate to reinforce their front line having seen both Luciano Vietto and Giovani dos Santos leave this summer.

According to the latest reports, the Yellow Submarine will attempt to lure Kevin Gameiro to El Madrigal, although that could prove to be a very difficult task.

Despite playing second fiddle to Colombian Carlos Bacca, the Frenchman scored a host of important goals last season and los Rojiblancos do not seem prepared to let him go.

Sevilla are referring all interested sides to his €40 million release clause, and it is now clear that Villarreal have no intention of matching their asking price.

With Carlos Bacca now gone and Ciro Immobile arriving on loan from Borussia Dortmumd, Gameiro has a decent chance of finally becoming a first choice striker at Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
