West Brom have bid rejected for William Carvalho

Portuguese media outlet Record has learned that Premier League high-flyers West Bromwich have failed in another assault on Sporting CP star William Carvalho.

The Baggies were unsuccessful in their attempts to recruit the 24-year-old in the summer and they have now returned with a new proposal.

However, Record understands that their £25.7 million bid was swiftly rejected by Sporting CP as they continue to refer interested clubs to the player’s £38.5 million release clause.

William Carvalho has long been on the radar of top European clubs and he even helped Portugal lift the Euro 2016 trophy.

The midfielder definitely seems ready to make the next step, but his current employers are determined to get top dollar for their star player.

William Carvalho has been heavily linked with a move to English Premier League, where Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City are believed to be keen on his services.
