West Bromwich Albion kick off their season against Manchester City at the Hawthorns tonight, with the visitors favourites to come out on top. However, Albion have proven to be a formidable force in their own backyard over the last few years, and could well cause City problems throughout.
Tony Pulis’ men boast strong home form from the previous campaign, picking up points at the Hawthorns against the likes of Manchester United, Southampton, Liverpool and Chelsea, and they have managed to score past plenty of Premier League heavyweights in front of their own fans too.
As a result, the two sides could well get on the scoresheet this evening. City boast one of the most potent attacks in the division, and scored in all but one of their 19 away league games last season. West Brom aren’t often kept from hitting the back of the net at the Hawthorns, and coupled with City’s inconsistent defence, there’s every chance tonight’s clash could see both sides scoring.
