Competition: FA Cup
Market: Wigan to win the FA Cup
Odds: 7/1 @ William Hill

After a shock 2-1 FA Cup quarter-final win against Manchester City at the Etihad stadium, Wigan Athletic find themselves in the FA Cup semi-finals to be played at Wembley. With the Lactics having won the competition last season at the expense of Manchester City – of whom they beat 1-0 in the final – they now find themselves two games away from retaining the cup – with Uwe Roslers men being given odds of 7/1 from William Hill to achieve it.

They will face Arsenal in the semis, and could face either Hull City or Sheffield Wednesday should they see past the Gunners to reach the final. It will certainly give them extra incentive going into the match that they could well spring yet another surprise in the prestigious cup competition.

Chelsea are the last side to have retained the FA Cup, but it will be only the second time in over 10 years that a side has successfully defended it. Since the final has been played at the new Wembley, there have been four different winners in seven seasons.

Can Wigan mark their name in history for the most unlikely of cup defences this season?
