Wilfried Zaha insists he remains focused on winning promotion to the Premier League with Crystal Palace this season.

Manchester United agreed a 17-million-pound deal to sign the England international last week, before immediately loaning Zaha back to the Eagles for the rest of their Championship campaign.

While the 20-year-old, who has scored five goals in 31 appearances for Palace so far this year, admits it’s a dream come true to be joining the Premier League leaders, he is determined to ensure the Selhurst Park crowd will be watching top-flight football next season before making the permanent move to Old Trafford in the summer.

“My dream was to play in the Premier League but I never thought I’d be signing for one of the top four teams,” Zaha told reporters.

“(But) I didn’t like the speculation and I just wanted it over with. Not knowing what’s happening is not really the best thing. I just wanted to get back to playing football.

He continued: “I’m glad I’m back on loan as I didn’t want to leave the job unfinished. Being with the team is like a family.

“I just want to get back to doing what I do best and get us back to the Prem.

“That’s what I’ve got my mind set on.”
