19th April: Friday’s Football Accumulator – 15/1

With Good Friday offering a hectic footballing start to the weekend, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your acca:

Friday 19th April

BST 15:00 Bolton vs Aston Villa

Carrying on what is becoming a very eye-catching end to the season, the mood in Aston Villa’s camp couldn’t be any higher. Putting in another impressive display in their 2-1 win over fellow playoff contenders Bristol City last weekend, Dean Smith’s side are enjoying an eight-match winning run and hold a commanding five-point buffer from slipping out of the top six. After reaching the playoff final last season, the former Brentford boss will be growing more impressed by the performances of his side in the final third. Scoring two or more goals in each of their past six appearances, one man to watch on Friday will be leading goalscorer and Chelsea loanee Tammy Abraham. Bagging 24 Championship goals this season and sat second in the overall goalscoring charts, the 21-year-old also has three in his last four. While Villa are enjoying a bright end to the season, the same cannot be said about a struggling Bolton side. Amidst a string of issues both on and off the pitch, Phil Parkinson’s side sit 10 points adrift of safety and another defeat on Friday could see them relegated to League One. Coming off the back of a 4-0 hammering away at Derby last weekend and now conceding two or more goals in eight of their last 10 outings, we’re backing a comfortable afternoon for a high-flying Aston Villa side.

Tip: Aston Villa to score over 2.5 goals @ 5/4

15:00 West Brom vs Hull City

Although their consistency has come under some scrutiny at the back end of the season, West Brom once again impressed in their thumping 4-1 win at home to Preston last weekend. While any chance of a late push for the automatic positions might be off the cards, caretaker boss James Shan has seen his side all but secure their spot in the playoffs. With their sights firmly set on securing an immediate return to the Premier League, a huge part of the Baggies’ ongoing success has been their form in the final third. Holding the second best-attacking stats in the second tier, only behind runaway league leaders Norwich, Friday’s hosts have now scored 10 goals in their last five outings. Another key area of success for West Brom at the back end of the season has been their form at the Hawthorns. Winning their last three matches in the Midlands, they have scored three or more goals in each of those victories. As for Hull, coming off the back of a 1-0 loss away at Middlesbrough last weekend and watching their three-match winning run come to an end, Nigel Adkins’ side sit five points adrift of the playoffs. Undoubtedly the major issue for the Tigers this season has been their form away from the KCOM. Friday’s visitors have lost six of their last seven matches on the road. While we do expect West Brom to come away with the victory on Friday afternoon, the Baggies have recorded just one home clean sheet in 2019 and it’s likely Hull will breach their somewhat leaky defence at some point.

Tip: West Brom win and both teams to score @ 9/4

15:00 Carlisle vs Lincoln

While Lincoln would have been disappointed to have only picked up a point against Cheltenham last weekend, Danny Cowley’s side have secured promotion to League One and are within touching distance of being crowned champions. Remarkably enjoying a 19-match unbeaten run that stems all the way back to Boxing Day, a huge part of the Imps’ ongoing success this season has been their continued performances away from Sincil Bank. Picking up a 2-0 win over playoff contenders MK Dons on their last trip outside of Lincolnshire, Friday’s visitors have won four of their last five on the road and have been beaten on the road just once since October. Holding both the second best attacking and defensive record in England’s fourth-tier, Lincoln will be looking to lift the League Two title when they travel to a struggling Brunton Park this week. Enduring a very worrying run at the end of the season, Carlisle have freefallen out of the top seven and now sit four points adrift of the reclaiming their spot in the playoffs. Coming off the back of a 3-0 hammering away at Stevenage last weekend, the Blues have picked up just two wins in their last 12 appearances. Also winning just two of their last six matches in Cumbria, we’re backing Lincoln to come away with the victory and the League Two crown.

Tip: Lincoln win @ 5/4
