Two camps who are only separated in the Serie A standings by their goal difference, Coritiba will welcome Bahia to Parana in the early hours of Tuesday.
Starting with the hosts, making what was a rampant return to winning ways last time out and finding a major boost, Coritiba will be dreaming of a repeat performance here. Eventually cruising their way to a dominant 3-0 victory away at Santos, Fernando Seabra’s side will be dreaming of a repeat display when they return to Parana in the early hours of Tuesday. Drawing a line under their five-match winless rut across all competitions, the Glorioso will now be dreaming of the chance to register consecutive Serie A wins for the first time since the middle of March. Likewise, notching a first top-flight clean sheet since back on April 19th, Coritiba have largely impressed since making their historic Serie A return this season. At the heart of a real Copa Sudamericana chase, Tuesday’s hosts will now be looking to find some much-welcomed stability on home soil. In fact, Seabra’s camp have won just a pair of their last eight showdowns in Parana – a run that runs back to February 8th.
As for the visitors, although Bahia might have embarked on a stellar start to the 2025 campaign, Rogerio Cent’s side have come crashing back down to earth. Last seen eventually being forced to settle for a disappointing 1-1 stalemate at home against Gremio, the Tricolor have failed to win any of their previous seven consecutive appearances across all competitions – a rut that stems back to April 11th. Slipping down the Serie A standings, the former Sao Paulo boss could also have some increasing pressure on his shoulders at the Arena Fonte Nova. Enduring their worst run of the 2026 campaign, Bahia have also shown some defensive struggles. It should be highlighted, Tuesday’s guests have failed to register a clean sheet over the past two months. However, landing a thrilling 4-2 victory when they travelled Parana back in September 2023, they have won their last four straight meetings against Coritiba by an aggregate score of 10-4.
