With teams across England’s Football Leagues looking to get their campaigns off to a winning start and action in the MLS starting to heat up as teams look to book their playoff position, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca.

Sunday 19th August

15:00 BST Brentford vs Sheffield Wednesday

After a summer of ins and outs at Griffin Park, Dean Smith’s Brentford side have enjoyed an eye-catching start to the new season and many have them tipped for a playoff push this year. Putting four past League One side Southend and booking their spot in the second round of the EFL Cup in midweek, The Bees are now unbeaten in their three opening matches to the new campaign and more impressive, along with beating Rotherham 5-1 in their opening matchup, Sunday’s hosts have now scored 10 in their last three. One man to watch for the hosts will be 22-year-old Frenchman Neal Maupay. The striker has enjoyed an impressive start to the new season and has already bagged two goals in his opening two Championship outings. Trying to slow down Brentford’s run will be a Sheffield Wednesday side who have struggled to adjust to the new Championship season. Although they may have beat lower-league Sunderland in midweek, The Owls had failed to win any of their other four outings and could struggle against a high-flying Brentford side.

Tip: Home win and over 2.5 goals @ 5/4

16:00 Brighton vs Manchester United

Starting with Sunday’s hosts, with Brighton coming off the back of a very unimpressive 2-0 loss to Watford in their Premier League opener, Chris Hughton’s side appear to have carried on from their poor form at the back end of last season. With now just two wins in their last 16 matches in all competitions, a run stemming back to the start of March, Sunday could be a tough afternoon against a Manchester United side who picked up a 2-1 win over Leicester last Friday. After returning early to training, Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho will be looking to bring back last years top scorer Romelu Lukaku. Scoring four goals at this summers World Cup finals on route to helping Belgium land a third-place finish, along with finding the net against The Seagulls last year, the 25-year-old also bagged 16 goals last season and will be looking to open his account on Sunday afternoon.

Tip: Romelu Lukaku to score anytime @ 5/4

Monday 20th August

00:30 DC United vs New England Revolution

Well, although it was a tough start in the Eastern Conference for Ben Olsen’s DC United side, the hosts on Monday have enjoyed a brilliant mid-season climb up the table. With a move to their Audi Field stadium bringing new life to DC, they’re coming off the back of an eye-catching 4-1 win over heavy hitters Portland Timbers. While Olsen’s side may have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 17, DC are now unbeaten in their last four and one man to thank for their turn around is former England captain Wayne Rooney. Along with scoring a brace last weekend, the 32-year-old now has three goals and five assists since moving to the MLS. As for their visitors, The Revolution have begun to drastically struggle under former USA keeper Brad Freidel and have now slipped out of the Top Six. Coming off the back of a 3-2 loss to Philadelphia, New England have now lost four of their last five and have shipped six in their last two.

Tip: Home win and both teams to score @ 2/1
