19th February: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 12/1

While the Champions League might be headlining Tuesday’s action, that doesn’t mean we’re short of matchups from across Britain. On that note, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips to boost your midweek acca:

Tuesday 19th February

BST 19:45 QPR vs West Brom

Picking up a 2-0 win away at Villa Park in the Midlands derby on Saturday, West Brom will once again be believing they could make a push for the automatic positions in the second half of the season. Enjoying a three-match unbeaten run and with the chance to move within a point of Leeds, it has been the Baggies’ form in the final third really catching the eye. Led by Jay Rodriguez who already has 17 goals for the season, including one against Villa last weekend, Tuesday’s visitors currently hold the second best-attacking stats in the Championship. It will also be their form away from the Hawthorns most impressing Darren Moore. West Brom are unbeaten in their last four matches on the road and have gone nearly 400 minutes without conceding an away goal. Given QPR’s drastic struggles at the moment, the Baggies should be confident of extending their tally in midweek. The Hoops have now lost their last three matches across all competitions and even more worrying for Steve McClaren, they have lost three of their last four matches at Loftus Road.

Tip: Away win @ 6/5

19:45 Notts County vs Newport County

While Notts County were almost universally tipped for relegation out of the Football League earlier in the season, few would have expected their impressive resurge. Picking up a 1-0 win over title contenders Mansfield over the weekend, Tuesday’s hosts are unbeaten in their last three appearances. Taking points off of the Stags, Forrest Green and Lincoln on that run, all teams who have their sights set on promotion this season, Neal Ardley will have his side believing they can pull off a great escape. Despite still being sat at the foot of the League Two table, another victory in midweek would move them a point off safety. If County are to carry on their revival, they will be looking to carry on their recent success at Meadow Lane. Losing just one of their last four matches on home soil, the hosts have also taken points off three teams who sit inside the playoff positions since the start of January. As for Newport, seeing their FA Cup dream come to an end at the hands of Manchester City last weekend, Newport must now turn their attentions to improving their recent record on the road. Slumping to a 3-0 loss away at Grimsby a fortnight ago, Tuesday’s visitors have now failed to win any of their last eight matches away from Rodney Parade. Remarkably losing six of those contests, we’re backing another tough night on the road for Newport.

Tip: Home win @ 7/5

19:45 Inverness CT vs Ross County

While Ross County might have been frustrated by their 2-2 draw with Inverness at the Global Energy Stadium last week, the Staggies should be confident of booking their spot in the quarterfinals of this year’s Scottish FA Cup. Sitting pretty at the top of the Championship table, it has been their form in the final third really spearheading their promotion push in the second-tier. Tuesday’s visitors have scored two goals in each of their last five appearances. Given Inverness’ recent defensive struggles, Ross County should be expecting another fruitful night in front of goal. Coming off the back of another worrying display in their 1-0 loss to Dunfermline last weekend, John Roberton’s side have now failed to win any of their last three outings and their form at home will be a growing concern. Inverness have remarkably picked up just one home win at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium in their last nine outings. More worrying, they have conceded two or more goals in five of their last seven games in front of their own supporters. With Ross County scoring 10 goals in their last five matches against Caley Thistle, we’re backing the visitors to score over 1.5 goals on Tuesday night.

Tip: Ross County to score more than 1.5 goals
