19th January: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 21/1

With another hectic weekend of footballing action fast approaching, we here at Soccer News have taken a look at a handful of helpful tips that can boost your Saturday acca:

Saturday 19th January

BST 15:00 Manchester United vs Brighton

Picking up a 1-0 win away at Wembley last weekend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has equaled Sir Matt Busby’s unbeaten start to life at Manchester United and few would have expected the Norweigan’s immediate success. With United now winning their last five Premier League matches on the bounce, the Reds now sit level on points with Arsenal and their top-four dreams might still be alive. With the United legend handing his side a newfound attacking identity, Solskjaer’s arrival has also played a huge role in Marcus Rashford’s very impressive run of form. The England international scored the winner against Tottenham last Sunday and the 21-year-old has now found the net in his last three consecutive appearances. Given Brighton’s well publicised struggles on the road in their league appearances, United’s new central striker should be confident of extending his tally. Chris Hughton’s side have remarkably managed to win just two of their last 24 Premier League away matches, a run that stems back to November 2017. Shipping two against West Ham in their last match away from the Amex, Brighton have recorded just one clean sheet on the road in their last 19 attempts.

Tip: Marcus Rashford to score anytime @ 7/5

15:00 Aston Villa vs Hull City

Saturday’s clash at Villa Park really is a battle of the in-form vs the out of form. While Dean Smith’s arrival in the Midlands may have breathed new life into their playoff push, the Villans have fallen back to their old ways and have once again begun freefalling down the Championship table. Coming off the back of a pair of 3-0 hammerings against Swansea and Wigan, Villa now sit on the verge of slipping out of the top half of the table. On a run of form that has seen them win just one of their last eight matches across all competitions, the former Brentford boss will be most concerned by his sides form at Villa Park. Last year’s playoff finalists have failed to win any of their last five matches which they have hosted. In strak contrast to the hosts, few would have expected Hull’s eye-catching rise up the Championship table. Led by Tottenham target Jarrod Bowen who has already bagged 13 goals this season, the Tigers have now won their last seven league appearances. Now within touching distance of climbing into the playoff positions, it will be their form on the road most impressive Nigel Adkins. Saturday’s visitors have won their last two matches away from the KC Stadium and are unbeaten in any Championship away games since the end of October.

Tip: Away win @ 11/4

15:00 Bradford vs Southend

While Bradford might be coming off the back of a 3-0 loss against promotion contenders Barnsley, the mood in David Hopkins’ camp should still be on high. Picking up back to back 4-0 and 3-0 wins over Rochdale and Accrington Stanley prior to their defeat last weekend, it has been their form at the Northern Commercials Stadium that has been spearheading the Bantams’ push out of the relegation zone. Despite occupying bottom spot for the majority of the season, Bradford have now won their last four League One home matches on the bounce and another victory on Saturday would see them climb out of the bottom-three. Along with scoring two or more goals in each of their last four victories in West Yorkshire, this weekend’s hosts have not conceded a home goal since a close fought 1-0 loss to league leaders Portsmouth back on November 3rd. As for Chris Powell’s Southend side, slumping to a 3-2 loss at home to relegation favorites Plymouth last weekend and amidst a string of off-feild issues, the Shrimpers have now lost their last two games on the bounce. With the possibility of falling all the way down to 16th by the end of the weekend, the visitors have now lost five of their last six League One matches away from Roots Hall.

Tip: Home win @ 29/20
