19th October: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With English football making a return following on from the international break, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your Saturday acca:

Saturday 19th October

BST 15:00 Bournemouth vs Norwich City

Starting with Saturday’s hosts, while Bournemouth may have entered the international break without a win in any of their previous three matches across all formats, there is no doubt that Eddie Howe’s men will be glad to make a return to the Vitality this weekend. Desperate to secure a top-half finish this season, the Cherries have undoubtedly saved their best performances for home soil so far this season. With their sole defeat in their last five Premier League matchups on the South Coast coming against Manchester City, one man who should be relishing Norwich’s arrival this weekend is leading marksman, Callum Wilson. The 27-year-old has bagged five goals in his last five top-flight appearances, including three in his last three at the Vitality. As for the guests, putting in a season-worst display and suffer a humiliating 5-1 at home against fellow Premier League returners Aston Villa last time out, Daniel Farke’s side have now lost their last three consecutive matches since their famous victory over Manchester City last month. Now freefalling down to 19th, it should also be noted that the Canneries hold the worst defensive record in the division.

Tip: Callum Wilson to score anytime @ 10/11

15:00 Stoke City vs Fulham

While Stoke may have managed to pick up a shock 2-1 win away at Swansea prior to the break, a result that brought Nathan Jones more time at the BET365 Stadium, it does not cover what has been a woeful campaign for the Potters. Still sat at the foot of the Championship despite being tipped as a pre-season favorite in the play-off race, Saturday’s hosts have recorded just a single victory in their opening 11 attempts and their continued struggles have come down to some glaring issues on home soil. Stoke have lost their last four matches in Staffordshire on the bounce and have not picked up a victory in front of their own supporters since the 2nd of March. Given Aleksandar’s free-scoring antics of late, there is no doubt that the Serbian international should be confident of extending on his purple patch. Bagging three goals in his two matches while away on international duty, last year’s Golden Boot winner already has eight Championship goals to his name and has now found the net five times in just his last three outings.

Tip: Aleksandar Mitrovic to score anytime @ 7/5

15:00 Cambridge United vs Exeter City

Starting with Saturday’s guests, picking up a 1-0 win over fellow title contenders Forest Green Rovers last weekend, Exeter now find themselves dreaming of securing an automatic route to League One next summer. Now landing back-to-back victories in England’s fourth-tier, including a very eye-catching 2-0 victory away at Newport a fortnight ago, the mood around Devon continues to soar. With only their goal difference keeping them behind fellow high flyers Crewe and top spot, there is no doubt that Head Coach Matt Taylor will be growing more impressed by his side’s form on the road. Unbeaten in all six of their League Two matches away from St James Park, the Whites have also not tasted a domestic away defeat since the start of April. While Saturday’s guests might find themselves enjoying a continued successful run, Cambridge find themselves in the midst of a real struggle. Suffering back-to-back 1-0 defeats against Salford and Northampton, Colin Calderwood’s men are now without a win in their last five matchups and have lost four of their last five matches at the Abbey Stadium.

Tip: Exeter City win @ 5/4
