20th April: Saturday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With a hectic Saturday of footballing action from across Europe’s top-tiers, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your weekend acca:

Saturday 20th April

BST 14:00 Udinese vs Sassuolo

While Udinese might be coming off the back of a 1-0 loss away at European contenders Roma last week, Saturday’s hosts did impress for large spells. Holding a three-point buffer from falling back into the relegation zone and enjoying a bright resurge at the back end of the season, a huge part of I Bianconeri’s recent success has been their performances at Dacia Arena. Putting three past Empoli in their last outing in Udine, Igor Tudor’s side have won their last four Serie A matches on home soil and have remarkably tasted defeat just once in front of their own supporters since the 9th of December. With their confidence arguably at a season-high and continuing to impress at the Dacia Arena, the White and Blacks should be confident of extending their buffer over the drop zone. While Udinese might be enjoying quite the resurge at the end of the Serie A campaign, the same cannot be said for an inconsistent Sassuolo side. Putting in another lackluster display in their 0-0 draw with Parma last time out, Saturday’s visitors have recorded just one victory in their last 11 outings. Now freefalling out of the top half of the table, a huge part of Sassuolo’s problems have come down to their worrying performances on the road. Losing three of their last four away from home and still looking for their first victory on their travels since the middle of December, we’re backing Udinese to come away with the victory on Saturday afternoon.

Tip: Udinese win @ 27/20

15:00 Wolves vs Brighton

Despite suffering a 3-1 loss away at Southampton last weekend and also failing to book their spot in the final of this year’s FA Cup, there is no doubt that Wolves will be glad to make a return to Molineux on Saturday. With their sights firmly set on securing a spot in Europe next season, a huge part of Wolves’ Europa League push has been their stability on home soil. Picking up a famous 2-1 win over Manchester United in their last appearance in the Midlands, many believe that Nuno Espírito Santo is a leading contender to win the Manager of the Season award this year. Unbeaten in their last eight home matches across all competitions and winning seven of those, Wolves have continued to shine in the final third and one man to watch over the weekend will be leading goalscorer Raul Jimenez. Finding the net at Wembley earlier in the month and making his arrival a permanent one following a £30million move from Benfica, the 27-year-old now has six in his last 10 across all competitions. As for Saturday’s visitors, while Wolves are looking to mount a European charge, Brighton find themselves in their own battle at the other end of the table. Suffering a 2-0 loss at home to fellow relegation contenders Cardiff on Tuesday, the Seagulls now hold just a two-point buffer from falling into the drop zone. Enduing a five-match losing run and also shipping seven goals in just their last two appearances, we’re backing Wolves to enjoy another fruitful afternoon in the final third.

Tip: Wolves to score over 1.5 goals @ 1/1

19:30 Schalke vs Hoffenheim

Starting with Saturday’s visitors, putting in another impressive display in their 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin last weekend, the mood in Hoffenheim’s camp couldn’t be any higher. Looking to book another season of European football and with the chance to move within touching distance of the top four in the Bundesliga, Julian Nagelsmann’s men have won their last three matches on the bounce and have lost just one of their last 11 outings, a run that stems back to the middle of January. One man who is really spearheading Hoffenheim’s European charge is leading goalscorer and attacking talisman Andrej Kramaric. Really enjoying a breakout year in Germany’s top-tier, the World Cup finalist has bagged 15 Bundesliga strikes this season and has also now recorded 10 goals in his last 12 matches for club and country. Also finding the net when he last faced off against Schalke back in January, the Croatian international should be confident of extending his tally. Playing out another worrying display in their last 1-1 draw with fellow relegation contenders Nurnberg last weekend, the Royal Blues are still struggling to adjust to life since Domenico Tedesco’s departure last month. Picking up just one victory since the 20th of January and remarkably recording just one clean sheet in 2019, we’re backing Kramaric to enjoy his evening in the final third.

Tip: Andrej Kramaric to score anytime @ 13/10
