With a hectic Chrismas schedule fast approaching, sides from across England’s footballing tiers will be looking to accumulate as many points as possible. On that note, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that could boost your weekend acca:

Saturday 22nd December

BST 15:00 West Ham vs Watford

While it might have been a start to the season that was riddled with inconsistencies, West Ham appear to be finding their feet under Manuel Pellegrini. Picking up a 2-0 win away at Craven Cottage last weekend, the Hammers are now enjoying a four-match winning run in the Premier League and have begun a very impressive rise up the table. A fifth victory for the east London side on Saturday could see them jump as high as sixth and also leapfrog Manchester United. Despite leading goalscorer Marko Arnautović missing the Christmas run-in with an injury issue, the hosts have been in remarkable form in the final third. West Ham have now scored 11 goals on their four-match winning run, including six in their last two appearances at the London Stadium. Given Watford’s recent defensive issues, the Hammers should be confident of extending that tally this weekend. The Hornets have now picked up just one win in their last seven Premier League matches, a run that stems back to the end of October. More worrying for Javi Garcia, his side have now conceded two or more goals in their last five outings on the bounce.

Tip: Home win and over 2.5 goals @ 9/4

15:00 Sheffield Wednesday vs Preston

Coming off the back of a 3-2 win at home to Millwall last weekend, Preston are undoubtedly enjoying their brightest spell in the new Championship campaign and will be looking to make it three wins on the bounce at Hillsborough on Saturday. The Whites have lost just one of their last 12 league outings, a run that stems back to the 29th of September. Also becoming just the second team to beat Nottingham Forest at home earlier in the month, the Whites will have their sights firmly set on securing a push to the top half of the table. One man to watch for the visitors will be leading goalscorer Callum Robinson. The 23-year-old has now scored two in his last two for Alex Neil’s side. Given Sheffield Wednesday’s recent struggles, Robinson and Preston should be confident of extending their winning run. The Owls are now without a win in their last three, conceding eight goals on that run. Freefalling down the table, their form at Hillsborough will be a huge concern for Jos Luhukay. The hosts have now managed to pick up just one win in their last eight Championship matches on home soil.

Tip: Away win @ 11/8

15:00 Leyton Orient vs Chesterfield

Although Leyton Orient could only slump to a midtable finish in the National League last season, it has been a very impressive transformation for Saturday’s hosts. Coming off the back of a thumping 4-0 win over Beaconsfield Town and booking their spot in the next round of the FA Cup, the Reds now sit one point clear at the top of the table. Now losing just one of their last 10 matches across all competitions, one man who has epitomized Orient’s start to the season is leading goalscorer Macauley Bonne. Already bagging 16 goals this season and sat just one behind Salford’s Adam Rooney in the overall goalscoring charts, the 23-year-old has now scored seven goals in his last eight matches for Justin Edinburgh’s side. As for the visitors this weekend, after being relegated from League Two last season, it appears Chesterfield could be facing back to back relegations. Now sat with just a two-point buffer from falling into the drop zone, they have recorded just one league win in their last 20 attempts.

Tip: Macauley Bonne to score anytime @ 21/20
