22nd October: Tuesday’s Football Accumulator – 9/1

With a hectic Tuesday night of action from across England’s footballing tiers, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:

Tuesday 22nd October

BST 19:45 Queens Park Rangers vs Reading

Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, coming from behind to snatch a 3-2 win away at Hull over the weekend, QPR have arguably been the Championship’s surprise package this season. Really starting to shine under new boss Mark Warburton, the Hoops now find themselves sat in the play-offs and have landed back-to-back second-tier victories. Remarkably sat just three points adrift of league leaders West Brom, one man who has continued to spearhead QPR’s recent revival has been the red-hot Eberechi Eze. Bagging a brace against Hull at the KCOM over the weekend, Warburton was filled with praise for the 21-year-old who has now scored three goals in his last two Championship appearances. Also finding the net three times in his last four matchups in West London, Eze should be confident of extending on that tally in midweek. While Mark Bowen may have seen his Reading side pick up a last-gasp 1-0 win over Preston to announce his managerial tenure on Saturday, they still find themselves in a battle at the foot of the table. Holding just a two-point buffer over the drop zone, it should also be noted that Reading have recorded just a single Championship victory on the road since the 2nd of March.

Tip: Eberechi Eze to score anytime @ 7/4

19:45 Crewe vs Colchester United

Putting in yet another dominant display and picking up a 3-1 win over Swindon on home soil over the weekend, Crewe’s youthful side have taken League Two by strom this season. Now enjoying a three-match winning run across all competitions, David Artell’s men now hold a two-point buffer at the top of the table and the mood around Cheshire continues to soar. Now enjoying a seven-match unbeaten run that stems all the way back to the 14th of September, a huge part of Crewe’s eye-catching start has come down to some lethal displays in the final third. Bagging seven goals in their last seven League One matchups, it should be noted that no team have recorded more than their 26 strikes this year. While Crewe might find themselves enjoying a continued battle at the top of the table, Colchester find themselves in the midst of a rut. Despite flirting with the play-off spots heading into October, the Essex outfit have lost their last three matches on the bounce, including a 2-1 defeat away at Crawley last week. Also winning just one of their last four matches on the road, we’re backing a high-flying Crewe to extend their winning run in midweek.

Tip: Crewe win @ 10/11

19:45 Newport County vs Crawley Town

Starting with Tuesday’s hosts, although Newport may have came crashing out of the EFL Trophy earlier in the month, the Welsh outfit made a return to winning ways over the weekend and have continued to shine in League Two. Picking up a 2-1 win over Scunthorpe on Saturday afternoon, Michael Flynn’s men have won their last three matches on the bounce and are enjoying a five-match unbeaten run. Now climbing up to third in England’s fourth-tier and just three points adrift of league leaders Crewe, Newport have continued to shine at Rodney Parade. Winning five of their last six appearances on home soil, Flynn’s men are also yet to taste defeat in front of their own supporters since opening the 2019/2020 campaign. With their sights set on securing a route to League One come next summer, Tuesday’s hosts should be confident of extending their winning run in midweek. While Crawley may have managed to snatch a 2-1 victory over Colchester a fortnight ago, Gabriele Cioffi’s men came crashing back down to earth last weekend. Falling out the top half of the table, the Red Devils have lost four of their last five matches across all competitions.

Tip: Newport County win @ 1/1
