25th September: Wednesday’s European Accumulator – 6/1

With a hectic Wednesday night from across Europe’s footballing tiers, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:

Wednesday 25th September

BST 18:00 Roma vs Atalanta

Starting with Wednesday’s hosts, now just one of three teams in Italy’s top-tier to boast an unbeaten start to the new Serie A campaign, Roma appear to be enjoying life both domestically and in Europe. Putting in another eye-catching display in their 2-1 win away at Bologna last weekend, new boss Paulo Fonseca has really started to improve the mood around the Stadio Olimpico. Now enjoying a three-match winning run, a run that also saw them put four past İstanbul Başakşehir in their Europa League opener, one man who has continued to spearhead their charge is leading marksman Edin Dzeko. Once again finding the net against Bologna last time out, the former Manchester City striker has now scored in his last three appearances for Roma and also has five in his last five including back-to-back goals for Bosnia earlier in the month. Given Atalanta’s sluggish start, Dzeko should be confident of extending his purple patch on Wednesday. Managing to just scrape a late 2-2 draw against Serie A strugglers Fiorentina over the weekend, last year’s European finishers have managed to win just one of their last four matches across all competitions, including a 4-0 hammering against Dinamo Zagreb in their Champions League opener.

Tip: Edin Dzeko to score anytime @ 20/21

18:00 Mallorca vs Atletico Madrid

Coming off the back of a shock 0-0 draw at home to Celta Vigo over the weekend and unable to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat against Real Sociedad last week, there is no doubt that Diego Simeone will be calling on his side to return to winning ways on Wednesday night. Managing to snatch a point off of Juventus in their Champions League opener, fans around the Wanda Metropolitano should take some solace from Real Madrid and Barcelona’s inconsistencies at the start of the new campaign. While Atletico might be showing some signs of an ever so minor struggle, they should see Wednesday’s trip to Mallorca as a golden opportunity to return to winning ways. Shipping four away at Getafe last time out, the hosts have endured a torrid return to Spain’s top-tier. Now failing to win any of their last five matches across all formats, Vicente Moreno has also seen his side now fail to find the net in four of their last five appearances. It is also worth noting that Mallorca have failed to find the net in their last three matches on home soil.

Tip: Atletico Madrid win to nil @ 5/4

19:45 Burton Albion vs Bournemouth

Starting with Wednesday’s guests, after returning from the international break in some style, the mood around Bournemouth’s camp continues to soar. Picking up South Coast bragging right and putting in another dominant display in their 3-1 win over Southampton last week, Eddie Howe’s men have now picked up back-to-back 3-1 victories and have their sights firmly set on securing a late cup run this season. Led by leading marksman Callum Wilson who now has four goals in his last three appearances, the Cherries have really started to shine in the final third and should see their trip to the Pirelli Stadium as a chance to lay down another marker. With Burton shipping two late goals and leaving Tranmere on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat, the Yellows and have begun to show some minor issues in England’s third-tier. Now on a run that has seen them win just one of their last five League One outings, Head Coach Nigel Clough has also seen his side win just one of their last four matches across all competitions in Staffordshire.

Tip: Bournemouth to score over 1.5 goals @ 4/6
