4th July: Thursday’s MLS Accumulator – 15/1

While the major European leagues are still enjoying a summer break, the MLS season is really starting to heat up. On that note, we here at Soccer News have found a handful of helpful tips that can boost your midweek acca:

Thursday 4th July

BST 00:00 New York City FC vs Seattle Sounders

Starting with Thursday’s hosts, after putting in yet another dominant display and picking up an empathic 4-2 win over Eastern title leaders Philadelphia last weekend, the mood in New York City’s camp couldn’t be any higher. Under the guidance of former Manchester City coach Domènec Torrent, the Sky Blues are enjoying a four-match winning run and also have a US Open Cup semi-final to look forward to later this month. Now looking to mount a charge up the Eastern Conference and shore up their play-off spot, a huge part of NYCFC’s recent revival has come thanks to their form in the final third. Scoring two or more goals in each of their previous four victories, one man to watch in midweek will be the red-hot, Maximiliano Moralez. Bagging a brace last weekend and now recording three strikes in his last two MLS appearances, the 32-year-old also has five in his last six and should be confident of extending that tally against a Seattle side low on confidence. Despite the Sounders managing to pick up a hard-fought 1-0 win over Vancouver last weekend, Thursday’s visitors have lost four of their last five outings and have famously struggled outside of Washington. The Greens are enduring a three-match losing run on the road, conceding two or more goals in each of those defeats.

Tip: Maximiliano Moralez to score anytime @ 13/8

01:30 Sporting Kansas City vs Los Angeles FC

Starting with Thursday’s visitors, while Los Angeles may have seen their four-match winning run come to an end away at Colorado last weekend, Bob Bradley’s side are still in pole position to clinch the Western Conference outright this year. Holding a six-point buffer over LA Galaxy, a huge part of the Whites’ continued rise has come thanks to their form in the final third. Led by former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela who has already recorded 16 MLS strikes this season, the best return of any player in America’s top-tier this season, no team in either the West or the East hold a better attacking recorded than LAFC. Also losing just one of their last six matches away from Banc of California Stadium, there is no doubt that the former USA Head Coach will be looking for his side to refind their winning touch in midweek. While LAFC might be enjoying a battle at the top of the West, Sporting KC find themselves in their own battle at the other end of the table. Coming off the back of a 2-0 loss away at Real Salt Lake last time out, Peter Vermes’ men have slumped to the foot of the table and have now won just two of their last 16 matches across all competitions.

Tip: Los Angeles FC win @ 10/11

02:00  Houston Dynamo vs New York Red Bulls

Starting with the Red Bulls, while New York may have seen their US Open Cup dreams come to an end last month, Chris Armas’ side will still be believing that they can make a push for the Eastern title. Picking up a 3-1 win at home to Chicago last weekend and now winning three of their last four MLS matchups, they have also lost just one league appearance since the 9th of May. With another victory on Thursday moving the Red Bulls within touching distance of Philadelphia and top spot, the visitors will be looking to capitalize on Houston’s continued struggles. Putting in another worrying display in their 2-1 loss away at New England last time out, the Dynamo’s are enduring a four-match losing run and now sit on the verge of falling out of the play-off positions. A huge part of Houston’s continued issues has been down to their recent defensive struggles. Shipping a pair of goals in each of their last five outings, they have also failed to record a single clean sheet since the end of April. With New York picking up a 1-0 win when the two sides last met back in August, we’re backing a high-flying Red Bulls to fancy their chances in Texas on Thursday.

Tip: New York Red Bulls draw no bet @ 9/4
