The Merseyside rivalry, fierce in all other aspects, stops short when it comes to the 97 Liverpool fans who lost their lives as a result of the events at Hillsborough, on April 15, 1989.

Everton have always shown strong support for their local rivals in this matter, and there’s a nice tribute to the Hillsborough victims at their Finch Farm training ground.
