Scottish midfielder Charlie Adam is worried brother Grant will lose his job as Glasgow Rangers prepare to cut their playing staff.

Grant Adam, 20, is a reserve goalkeeper at the Ibrox outfit and has recently been out on loan to Airdrie United after failing to break into the first team.

Former Rangers man Charlie, now with Liverpool, has said while he is saddened by the Scottish Premier League club’s dire financial plight, his main concerns lie with his family.

“The only person I am interested in is my brother,” Charlie Adam said.

“He is my brother and that is the important thing, he might lose his job and it is going to be difficult.”

“But the rest of it is nothing to do with me, I cannot affect what is happening or what has gone on before.”

“That is the situation they are in and that is how we have to deal with it, I am not getting involved. What I say is not going to make a difference.”
