Agbonlahor set for new Villa deal

Gabriel Agbonlahor is set to sign a new contract at Aston Villa, according to the Mail Online.

The 27 year old has been in talks over a fresh deal with the club for several weeks, and now looks to have agreed terms over a four-year extension, giving manager Paul Lambert a huge boost early in the season.

Since making his debut for the club in March 2006, the Birmingham born forward has made 320 appearances in all competitions, scoring seventy-nine goals while he has been capped three times for England.

Lambert is also keen to tie fellow first team regulars Ron Vlaar and Fabian Delph down to new deals, as well as teenage sensation Jack Grealish, who has this week been linked with a move to Chelsea.

Villa, who are currently sitting third in the Premier League after an unbeaten start to the campaign, travel to Liverpool in Saturday’s late kick-off.
