Ajax in double swoop for Barca youngsters

Ajax are exploring the possibility of signing Barcelona players Andreu Fontas and Jonathan Dos Santos, according to Voetbal International.

The Dutch giants are still searching for a central defender and an attacking midfielder and they have expressed interest in signing the Barca duo on season-long loans.

Ajax sporting director Marc Overmars is already in talks with the Catalans over the two youngsters and the agreement appear to be on the horizon.

Barcelona are prepared to let Fontas and Dos Santos leave the club in order to gain some first team experience and given they boast excellent relations with the Amsterdam ArenA outfit, it is only a matter of time before the two deals will be wrapped up.

Andreu Fontas has just returned into action after recovering from a serious injury and Ajax see him as a perfect replacement for Jan Vertonghen.

Jonathan Dos Santos, on the other hand, is regarded as one of the hottest prospects at Camp Nou, but it is believed he needs to gain more first team experience before being able to challenge for a starting place in Tito Vilanova’s side.
