Ajax lead chase for Propper

Eredivisie giants Ajax have emerged as favourites for the signature of Vitesse midfielder Davy Propper, according to De Telegraaf.

The central midfielder has seen his stock rise a great deal over the last year or so and he is widely tipped to leave the Arnhem side for greener pastures in the summer.

And while top European sides are casting admiring glances his way, Propper is also ready to join one of the Dutch giants.

“I want to make that step up. This may also be in the Netherlands, I think,” the 23-year-old confessed to De Telegraaf.

According to the media outlet, Ajax have been showing interest in the highly rated footballer and could step up their interest in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile, leaders PSV Eindhoven are not believed to be tracking Propper, although that could change between now and the end of the season.

Davy Propper has spent his entire career up to date with Vitesse, making 133 league appearances and scoring 16 goals in total.
