Alderweireld reveals Spartak Moscow offer

Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld has revealed he is seriously considering an offer from Spartak Moscow.

The Amsterdammers yesterday admitted they had received an official offer from the player’s services, with English media stating Everton as the club in question.

However, Dutch De Telegraaf has learned that it was indeed Spartak Moscow that submitted the bid, believed to be in the region of €7 million.

Toby Alderweireld has now moved to confirm those reports and admitted he has been tempted by the offer from Russia.

“I have also understood that they (Spartak Moscow) have made Ajax an offer for me,” the Belgian explained to De Telegraaf.

“I’ve always said that I will seriously consider each option. ”

Toby Alderweireld has one year left on his contract at Amsterdam Arena, and it is no secret he is looking to leave his current employers.

He has already rejected an offer from Norwich, but it looks as though he wouldn’t mind moving to the Russian Premier League.

The 24-year-old has made a total of 126 Eredivisie appearances for Ajax and scored 7 goals.
