Alexander Farnerud linked with MLS switch

Torino midfielder Alexander Farnerud could be moving to Major League Soccer at the end of the current season, according to Tuttosport.

The experienced footballer recently returned from a difficult injury and his current contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

Farnerud is waiting to see whether he will be offered a new deal in Turin, but he should have no problems finding a new club if that does not happen.

With two very good Serie A seasons behind him, the Swedish midfielder is believed to be on the radar of several Italian sides, while he also has an opportunity to move to the MLS.

The latest reports suggest that Farnerud is held in high regard by clubs from the United States, and it remains to be seen whether he will be interested in moving overseas.

Alexander Farnerud, 31, joined Torino from Young Boys in July 2013 and has since managed 5 goals in 47 Serie A outings.
