Alonso open to MLS switch

Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso has hinted that he could be set for a move to a club in the MLS in the future, Sky Sports understands.

The Spain international was linked with a return to the Premier League in January, but eventually signed a new deal with the La Liga giants that will see him remain at the Bernabeu until the summer of 2016.

However when asked, the former Liverpool man refused to rule out a move to America at some stage, before also suggesting that he could also one day return to Real Sociedad, the club where he began his professional career.

The 32 year old is in line to win his 110th full international cap tomorrow evening as the World and European Champions take on Italy at the Vicente Calderon Stadium, and Vicente Del Bosque’s men can be backed at a price of 1/2 for the win.
