Amauri hints at PSG deal; Aston Villa weighing up move for Owen Hargreaves

Amauri hints at PSG deal

Juventus striker Amauri says that he could join Paris Saint-Germain before the transfer window shuts.

The Brazilian has been deemed surplus to requirements in Turin and he was recently linked with Palermo, Parma and Hamburger.

However, the player now admits that he could join Paris Saint-Germain instead.

“My agents told me there is something brewing with Paris Saint-Germain,” the Brazilian told L’Equipe.

“It’s pleasing, although Leonardo hasn’t called me yet. Juve let me know I am not part of their plans, but I will only leave for a side on the same level. Otherwise, I’ll stay until January.

“PSG are a great club and I am interested. If their proposal were to be confirmed, then I’d happily sign for them. Leonardo is a wonderful person and when I was a kid I supported him at Sao Paolo.”

The Saints are still looking to add another striker to the squad and they could decide to move for Amauri, who should be available on the cheap.

Aston Villa weighing up move for Owen Hargreaves

Aston Villa have shown interest in former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves, according to The Mirror.

The 30-year-old is looking for a new club after being released from his contract at Manchester United and several Premiership sides are reportedly keen.

West Bromwich and Leicester have been in contact with the veteran midfielder and it has now been revealed that Aston Villa are also in the race.

With Jean Il Makoun set to join Olympiakos, Villa boss Alex McLeish is looking to add another midfielder to the squad and he is ready to offer Hagreaves a chance to return to the big stage.

It looks as though Villa Park will be a busy place in the next few days as Luke Young is expected to finalize his move to QPR, with Alan Hutton lined up to replace him.

The club are also looking to sell Habib Beye, Carlos Cuellar and Shane Lowry before the transfer window shuts.

Sierra Leone hotshot welcomes Celtic interest

AIK Stockholm forward Mohamed Bangura admits that he is flattered by the interest from Celtic.

The Scottish giants are keen on the 22-year-old forward and they are hoping to sign the player before the transfer window closes on Wednesday.

Blackburn and Club Brugge have also shown interest, meaning that the Bhoys will have to act quickly if they want to get their man.

Meanwhile, the player says he is interested in a move to Celtic.

“I know Celtic were here and watched me,” Bangura told the Daily Record. “They are a good club but I do not know what will happen.

“Many clubs are interested in me but it’s up to AIK. They have said no to some bids already but I am not really stressed about the situation.

“If the right club come up with the right bid for me, I am going to be happy.”

The Sierra Leone international has been in fine form this season, scoring 9 goals in 20 league games.

Owen should move to Aston villa. He’s very talented and I could see him at villa park. He needs some playing time either way.

You definitely have a point there Angel. I, too, believe Hagreaves would be a big asset to Villa, provided he can stay fit for most of the season.
