Paris Saint-Germain coach Carlo Ancelotti wants his side to improve their defence ahead of their Coupe de France quarter-final.
PSG will take on Lyon on Wednesday and Ancelotti is wary of the scoring capacity of Remi Garde’s side.
Last time the teams met in February, Lyon breached the league leader’s defence four times in a thrilling 4-4 draw.
“For our last game against Lyon, we played well but we conceded four goals,” Ancelotti said.
“Lyon’s strikers did really well.”
Ancelotti will bring in some of the players that missed Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Caen in an effort to spark his team.
“I think we can use the players that have not played against Caen, to have a ‘renewed’ team, with fresher players that can put some intensity into the side,” Ancelotti said.
“We have players like Milan Bisevac, Christophe Jallet, Mathieu Bodmer who did not play the last game.”
“They are fit, so we can use them to put some intensity into the side.”
“That’s what we are going to need against Lyon. They are a good team, they have some experience.”
Despite having just a two-point margin over Montpellier at the top of the Ligue 1 table, Ancelotti denied the changes against Lyon mean he is favouring the league title over the cup competition.
“Coupe de France is important, just like Ligue 1,” the 52-year-old said.
“We want to give our best in both.”
“In the French Cup, our objective is to play the final in Stade de France.”
