Alberto Aquilani is a step closer to completing his loan move to AC Milan after passing a medical with the Serie A club.
The club’s official website confirmed the 27-year-old Italy international underwent tests on Thursday afternoon before heading to their Milanello training ground, ahead of his impending loan move from Liverpool.
Aquilani is expected to sign a one-year loan deal, with Milan obligated to make it a permanent transfer if he plays in more than 25 games this season.
“I am very happy to have arrived here, this is a turning point in my career,” Aquilani said.
“I have come to Milan to do well and this is a good responsibility for me.”
“I can play in any area of the midfield. I want to do all I can to earn the faith of the club.”
Milan are expected to announce the move as official either later on Thursday or on Friday morning once all the paperwork is finalised.
The Italians will have to wait for documents arriving from the Premier League before they can confirm the transfer fully.
If the transfer is cleared before the weekend then he may feature against Cagliari in their Serie A opener.
