Aston Villa confident over FFP controversy

According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Premier League side Aston Villa are confident that they are not in breach of any Financial Fair Play rules – despite the league looking into the sale and lease back off their stadium. Villa received approval before selling Villa Park to the company of one of their owns, before it was leased back in return. The club are more than happy to cooperate with the operation that is being put in place by the Premier League, which, of course, is an immediate indication that they’re in a pretty comfortable position.

Villa have had an okay start to the Premier League campaign, as they attempt to avoid the same fate as Fulham, who also spent big in their return to the top flight before immediately being relegated back down to the Championship.

Either way, this saga feels like it could go on for a while.
