Two sides looking to end their season with a piece of silverware, Atalanta will travel to the Stadio Olimpico for the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday night.

Starting with Wednesday’s hosts, while Lazio may have managed to pick up a much-needed 2-1 win away at Cagliari over the weekend, it does not cover what has been a worrying campaign for Simone Inzaghi’s side. Sat way down in eighth in Serie A and four points adrift of securing another European finish, fans in Roma will also be growing more concerned by Lazio’s recent performances at the Stadio Olimpico. Suffering a 3-1 loss when they hosted Atalanta on home soil earlier in the month, The White and Sky Blues are coming off the back of a pair of defeats in front of their own supporters and have shipped two or more goals in three of their last four matchups in front their own supporters.

As for the visitors, putting in another dominant display in their 2-1 win at home to Genoa on Saturday, few would have expected Atalanta’s stellar campaign. Now sat third in Italy’s top-tier and enjoying a five-match winning run, Gian Piero Gasperini’s men now sit in pole position to secure Champions League football next season. Enjoying a five-match winning run and holding the best atacking stats in Serie A, Wednesday’s visitors are also yet to taste defeat since the 23rd of February. Led by leading goalscorer Duvan Zapata, Atalanta are also unbeaten in their last six matches on the road, including a 3-1 win away at Lazio on their last appearance away from Bergamo.
