Market: Atlanta United win

Odds: 13/5 @ Bet 365

Handed the chance to move within touching distance of top spot in the Western Conference, Atlanta United will travel to a struggling SeatGeek Stadium in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Starting with the hosts, after suffering another worrying display in their 3-1 hammering away at New York Red Bulls last weekend, Chicago find themselves in the midst of a real struggle. Now at the heart of a battle at the foot of the Eastern Conference and five points adrift of pulling off a remarkable play-off push, Head Coach Veljko Paunović has seen his side fail to win any of their last seven contests, a run that stems back to the 12th of May. Also crashing out of the US Open Cup at the hands of USL outfit Saint Louis last month, Thursday could prove to be another tough test for the Fire.

As for the visitors, getting back to winning way and picking up a 2-1 win at home to Montreal last weekend, the defending MLS champions have begun to adjust to life under former Crystal Palace boss Frank de Boer. With a US Open Cup semi-final to look forward to later in the month, Atlanta have now won five of their last six contests and another win on Thursday could see them move within a point of top spot in the West. Really starting to show signs of the side that took the MLS by storm last season, we’re backing the visitors to come away with another impressive three points in midweek.
