Atletico Madrid triumphed over Athletic Bilbao in their La Liga clash at the Wanda Metropolitano, with goals from Rodrigo de Paul and Angel Correa, as well as an own-goal by Bilbao goalkeeper Unai Simon, securing the points for the home side.
The only goal for the visitors was the work of Nico Williams, who at one point tried to have the referee stop the game due to apparent racist abuse that was coming his way from the stands.
Speaking after the game, Atletico captain Koke expressed strong support for the Bilbao winger, calling on the club and the relevant authorities to investigate and have the culprits banned from the stadium.
Whether they are many, few or just one, they have no place in football.
