Atletico Madrid will attempt to lure German midfielder Andre Schurrle to Vicente Calderon this summer, Marca has revealed.
Despite seeing a number of key men leave in the summer transfer window, los Colchoneros have managed to sign quality replacements, with Mexican forward Raul Jimenez the latest player to join their ranks.
Even so, Atletico plan to sign another attack-minded midfielder before the transfer window closes and they have set their sights on Andre Schurrle.
Los Colchoneros, however, face a very difficult task as Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho rates the player highly, while the Blues are unlikely to be too tempted by the offer of a season-long loan weighed up by the La Liga side.
With the Premier League season about to start and only two weeks left until the end of the summer transfer window, chances are that the Premier League club will not be interested in seeing the World Cup winner leave.
