Barca bring Todibo signing forward

Barcelona have brought the transfer of Jean-Clair Todibo from Toulouse six months forward, it has been officially confirmed.

The deal had been agreed for the summer, when the 19-year-old’s contract with the French side would come to an end and he’d be able to move to Camp Nou as a free agent. The original plan the Catalan’s had devised was for him to join the first team for the pre-season, when they would make a decision whether to keep him for the 2019/20 season or to send him out on loan.

Barcelona has also brought in Jeison Murillo from Valencia on loan for the rest of the season due to injuries to Samuel Umtiti and Thomas Vermaelen, and he has expressed a hope the deal would be made permanent afterwards.

It remains to be seen whether the immediate arrival of Todibo will affect Murillo’s plans and how, while the fee the La Liga champions will be paying for this change of timing remains undisclosed.
