Barcelona have denied having an agreement in place with Paris Saint-Germain’s rebel Adrien Rabiot, according to Sport.
The La Liga holders did try to sign the midfielder in the summer, but they claim they are going through official channels in their attempts. They met with PSG and submitted a bit. Having seen it rejected they submitted another one, but that one was unsuccessful too, and then the French side announced the player was not for sale and that negotiations over a new deal were underway.
However, those negotiations have obviously been unsuccessful as well, as Rabiot rejected three proposals and eventually pulled out of the talks altogether. Such a development prompted reports that the 23-year-old France international already had a deal in place to join Barcelona as a free agent next summer.
However, Barcelona themselves are now apparently distancing themselves from such a story and are adamant that they’re not working on any kind of deal behind anyone’s back.
