Barca won’t go for Griezmann again, PSG might

Asked if Barcelona would go back in for Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann, Guillem Balague was very clear.

“No chance. NO chance,” he said.

The Spanish journalist says the story that Barcelona would try again for Griezmann came from L’Equipe, and it was actually released by the entourage of the player in order to create a path towards the exit from Atletico, should he wish to follow it. There were reports which suggested that the French forward had a €120 million buyout clause in his contract which would turn to €200 on July 1st, but Balague says his sources at Atletico have told him the clause stands at €200 million already.

The Spaniard concludes that the whole story was designed to make an exit from Atletico possible, and even though Barcelona aren’t interested, Paris Saint-Germain might be.

The Ligue 1 champions have no intention of parting ways with either Neymar or Kylian Mbappe this summer, but they would like to add Griezmann to their already impressive forward line.
