Barcelona rekindle interest in Dayot Upamecano

Spanish giants Barcelona have reignited their interest in French defender Dayot Upamecano, according to El Mundo Deportivo.

The Catalans have been keeping close tabs on the 18-year-old centre-back for a couple of years now, but they missed out on his signature back in January as RB Leipzig secured a €7 million deal for his services.

But, with the youngster having continued with promising displays in German Bundesliga, he is now back on Barcelona radar.

After bringing Samuel Umtiti from Lyon, the Catalans plan to further rejuvenate their back line and Upamecano is one of their top targets.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, the second player on their hit-list is Ajax starlet Matthijs de Ligt, who already has 16 Eredivisie appearances and 2 goals to his name.
