Bayern Munich identify Timo Werner as Robert Lewandowski replacement

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are said to be  determined to keep the Polish striker Robert Lewandowski but they are nevertheless preparing a contingency plan in case the prolific goal scorer leaves the Allianz Arena this summer.

Former Borussia Dortmund star is said to be looking for a new challenge and Bayern officials have already held a meeting to discuss the situation regarding Lewandowski.

German media outlet Bild is reporting that the Bavarians have set their sights on the in-demand RB Leipzig frontman Timo Werner.

The 22-year-old German international has been enjoying a fantastic spell in the league with his stellar performances alarming the likes of AC Milan and Liverpool. Bayern Munich are prepared to join the chase, however, for the player who’s likely to command a €120 million fee.

Timo Werner is expected to be an integral part of the German national team in Russia, where Die Mannschaft have been installed as 9/2 favorites to lift the coveted trophy.
