The win moves Liege into third ahead of Club Brugge, who host Germinal Beerschot on Sunday.
Igor Vetokele scored on the stroke of half-time for Cercle Brugge as they won 1-0 away at St Truiden while a Jens Naessens hat-trick eased Waregem to a 3-1 win over Westerlo.
Mechelen and Kortrijk played out a goalless stalemate and Lokeren were too good for Mons in a 3-1 victory.
