Christian Benteke’s agent has insisted the Belgian striker will almost certainly be at Aston Villa next season.

The 22-year-old has taken the Premier League by storm since a summer switch from Genk, scoring 22 goals in 37 outings for Paul Lambert’s side, resulting in reported interest from top clubs across Europe.

He caught the eye again on Monday night, netting a 17-minute hat-trick as Villa demolished relegation rivals 6-1 at Villa Park, taking a huge step towards securing top-flight safety in the process.

Arsenal, Inter and Borussia Dortmund have all been credited with looking to make a move for Benteke, but Villa are expected to be looking for at least three times the seven million pound fee they paid for his services in August.

A new contract could also be offered to the striker, with additional reports claiming that any new deal at Villa Park would include a release clause that could enable Benteke to seal a big-money move if an offer is made.

Despite the interest in the striker, his agent Eric Kismet believes Benteke is more than happy to stay at the club and is not considering a move away.

“I keep hearing that Christian dreams of playing for different clubs,” Kismet said.

“But why dream when he is living a fantastic reality at Aston Villa? He is certainly not thinking about leaving.

“It is always impossible to predict the future in football, but, at the moment I am 99 percent certain Christian will start next season with Aston Villa in the Premier League.

“Paul Lambert, the club and the fans have all been very good to Christian and that means a lot to him.”
