Competition: MLS

Market: Charlotte win

Odds: 19/20 @ 888sport

In an MLS showdown that could prove to be an enjoyable affair in the early hours of Thursday, Charlotte will welcome DC United to the Bank of America Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, while Charlotte might have shocked Premier League giants Chelsea with their friendly victory on July 20th, interim boss Christian Lattanzio saw his side come crashing back down to earth last time out. Eventually blown away at the hands of Toronto thanks to a 4-0 drumming, the Crown will be seeking an immediate response in the early hours of Thursday. Still impressing many across America since making their MLS debut this season, the Blues have gained a reputation for their continued success on home soil. Including that penalties victory against the former Champions League winners last month, Charlotte have won four of their last five matchups at the Bank of America Stadium. With that run highlighted by a 4-1 romp against Nashville on July 9th, Lattanzio’s temporary squad should be smelling a chance here.

As for the visitors, managing to mount a stunning injury-time charge last weekend as they somehow snatched a 2-1 victory at home against Orlando, new boss Wayne Rooney will be desperate for his side to build off of that success. In the midst of what has been an MLS nightmare this season and still sat rock-bottom of the Eastern Conference table, the ex-Manchester United icon knows that he has quite the task on his hands at Audi Field this season. Despite recording just their second domestic victory from their previous 13 attempts last time out, DC have really shown a string of issues on the road this year. Coming under real scrutiny for their woeful 7-0 drumming against Philadelphia on July 8th, Thursday’s guests have lost four of their last five showdowns outside of Washington.

Bet: Charlotte vs DC United 19/20 to beat DC United in Thursday’s MLS battle @ 888sport
