Competition: MLS

Market: Vancouver Whitecaps double chance

Odds: 3/5 @ BetUS

Looking to extend on their recent flurry, Vancouver will mark their return to MLS duties in the early hours of Thursday when they meet a struggling Colorado.

Starting with the hosts, last seen putting in another downbeat display as they slumped to a routine 2-0 loss away at Orlando, it is fair to say that Colorado are in the midst of a public MLS nightmare. Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny since opening the 2023 campaign, Robin Fraser’s men are tipped as a standout pick to claim the Western Conference’s wooden spoon this season. Crashing back down to earth since opening May with a much-welcomed boost, the Rapids have now failed to win any of their last eight straight domestic appearances across all competitions. Likewise, along with crashing out of the US Open Cup on May 24th following a 1-0 defeat at home against Real Salt Lake, the midweek hosts have also collected just a single point from their previous seven MLS outings. Showing a string of issues in the final third and also now drawing a blank in four of their last five showdowns against top-flight opposition, Colorado should face another tough challenge here.

As for the visitors, heading into the June interval with a stunning last-gasp equaliser at home against Cincinnati, Vancouver should find the mood in their camp at a continued high. Making plenty of improvements since opening the 2023 campaign, the Whitecaps are now tipped as one of the leading contenders to claim a play-off ticket in the Western Conference. Suffering just a single loss from their previous six appearances across all competitions, Vanni Sartini’s men have also found a recent clinical edge in the final third. Signing off May with a famous display at BC Place as they stormed their way to a 6-2 romp against Houston, the midweek guests will be smelling the chance to make another play-off statement here. Despite being forced to settle for a 0-0 stalemate when they welcomed Colorado to town on April 24th, Vancouver do hold a rugged record against Thursday’s opponents. Suffering just one defeat from their last four meetings against the struggling Rapids, we are backing an away double chance.

Bet: Vancouver Whitecaps double chance against Colorado Rapids 3/5 for Thursday’s MLS matchup @ BetUS
