Competition: Belgian Pro League

Market: Goal to be scored in both halves

Odds: 8/13 @ Pribet

In what is a Boxing Day showdown between two Belgium giants, Genk will welcome Club Brugge to the Cegeka Arena on Friday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, eventually settling for a bronze medal finish among Belgium’s elite last season, some around the Cegeka Arena opened up the 2025/26 campaign with their sights set on potentially mounting a legitimate title charge. However, throwing away the lead twice last time out as they eventually had to settle for an action-packed 2-2 stalemate away at Charleroi, the Blues have come tumbling down the Pro League standings and they have faced some serious backlash since returning from November’s international break. Watching their Belgium Cup adventure come to a screeching end earlier in the month as they slumped to a 3-1 loss at home against Anderlecht, the Boxing Day hosts have failed to win any of their previous five appearances across all competitions. With their recent struggles underlined by a 3-0 drumming against Antwerp on December 7th, Genk have also shown some worrying defensive issues. In fact, the Blues have failed to register a single clean sheet over the past six weeks.

As for the visitors, while Club Brugge might have shown their own glaring inconstancies on either side of November’s fortnight interval, Ivan Leko’s camp have claimed a much-welcomed boost over the past fortnight. Collecting an impressive 2-1 victory against Gent last time out, the ex-Gent boss will be desperate to get one over on his former employers when he returns to the Cegeka Arena on Boxing Day. However, storming their way to an empathic 5-1 romp away at Dender earlier in the month, Friday’s guests find themselves sat just one-point adrift of leapfrogging Royale Union and reclaiming their spot at the top of the Pro League standings. Registering consecutive wins for the first time since the start of November, neutrals could be treated to an enjoyable showdown on Boxing Day. It should be noted, Leko’s side have recorded just a sole clean sheet from any of their last 12 matchups across all formats – a run that stems all the way back to the end of October.

Bet: Goal to be scored in both halves at Genk vs Club Brugge 8/13 for Friday’s Pro League battle @ Pribet
