Competition: MLS

Market: Los Angeles win

Odds: 7/10 @ 888sport

In a real showdown at the top of the Western Conference table in the early hours of Thursday, Los Angeles will welcome Dallas to the Banc of California Stadium.

Starting with the hosts, putting in what was a hugely impressive display over the weekend, it appears that the mood in Los Angeles’ camp should be at a real high. Shocking many across world football last week as they announced the arrival of former Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale, LAFC were last seen a few days ago landing an eye-catching 2-0 win against the New York Red Bulls. Opening the midweek fixtures sat at the top of the Western Conference table and holding a four-point buffer over the chasing pack, Steve Cherundolo’s men will be looking to build off of their recent boost. Losing just one of their last five domestic showdowns, Los Angeles have also continued to shine with their displays on home soil. Winning three of their last four MLS matchups in California, there is no doubt that Cherundolo’s side should be smelling a chance here.

As for the visitors, while Dallas might have also gained plenty of plaudits from across the MLS this season, they are in the midst of a worrying recent rut. Last seen over the weekend when having to settle for a lively 2-2 draw away at Austin, Head Coach Nico Estévez has seen his side win just one of their last five domestic showdowns. With their recent issues highlighted by a downbeat 2-0 loss at home against Vancouver on June 18th, the Burn will know that they face another real task here. Showing some extended issues at the back, the Texas-based outfit should also be worried by their record against Thursday’s hosts. Suffering a 3-2 defeat when the two sides faced off at the Toyota Stadium last season, Dallas have now failed to win any of their previous five meetings against LAFC.

Bet: Los Angeles 7/10 to beat FC Dallas in Thursday’s MLS matchup @ 888sport
