Competition: Bundesliga

Market: Mainz win

Odds: 8/11 @ 888sport

Smelling the chance to make another Bundesliga statement on Saturday afternoon, Mainz will welcome Werder Bremen to the MEWA Arena.

Starting with the hosts, last seen marking their return from the international display with a remarkable display away at RB Leipzig, Mainz are in the midst of what has become a real purple patch. Eventually breezing their way to a famous 3-0 romp against the German heavyweights, Bo Svensson’s men have continued to gain a string of plaudits this season. Opening this weekend’s fixtures sat just a single point adrift of breaking into the European places, the Reds are unbeaten in each of their last seven straight meetings against Bundesliga opposition. With that stellar run of form stemming all the way back to February 4th, Mainz have also gained a reputation for their free-scoring displays in the final third. Including a 4-0 victory at home against Borussia Monchengladbach on February 24th, it should be noted that Saturday’s hosts have racked up 16 Bundesliga strikes on their seven-match unbeaten run.

As for the visitors, while Werder Bremen might almost find themselves sat in Bundesliga limbo, Werder Bremen are enduring what has been an extended wobble. Last seen marking their return from the international break with a 2-1 loss at home against Hoffenheim, the River Islanders have claimed just a single point from any of their last four top-flight appearances. Likewise, claiming just a sole Bundesliga victory since back on February 5th, Ole Werner’s men have also shown some rather glaring struggles away from the Weserstadion. On a run that is highlighted by a 7-1 drumming at the hands of Koln, Bremen have just a single away win to their name since the middle of January. Facing a tough trip to the MEWA Arena on Saturday afternoon, the Greens should also be worried by a nightmare record against the European dreamers.

Bet: Mainz 8/11 to beat Werder Bremen in Saturday’s Bundesliga battle @ 888sport
