Competition: MLS

Market: Montreal win

Odds: 10/11 @ 888sport

Looking to continue on what has been a real purple patch on home soil, Montreal will welcome Austin to the Saputo Stadium in the early hours of Sunday.

Starting with the hosts, last seen heading into the international break with an action-packed display on home soil, Montreal have continued to gain a host of plaudits from across the MLS this season. Eventually signing off May with a thumping 4-3 victory at home against Cincinnati, the mood in Wilfried Nancy’s camp should be at a red-hot high. Firmly battling it out at the top of the Western Conference table, Montreal have now lost just a pair of their last 13 matchups across all formats, a run that stems all the way back to March 12th. Smelling the chance to lay down another marker in the early hours of Sunday, Nancy’s side should also be boosted by a rather rampant record in front of their own supporters. It should be highlighted, Montreal have won five of their previous six contests on home soil, including victories against the likes of Atlanta and Orlando.

As for the visitors, while Austin might have impressed many since making their MLS debut this season, Josh Wolff’s men are in the midst of a recent rut. Last seen on MLS duties back on May 29th getting hit with a thumping 4-1 loss away at Austin, the Texas-based outfit also failed to pick up any momentum last weekend. Facing off against Mexican outfit Pachuca in a friendly contest as they were once again hit for four, the Green and Blacks have now managed to win just one of their last six matchups across all formats. Quickly gaining somewhat of a reputation for their struggles at the back, Wolff will know that his side face another stern test in the early hours of Sunday. Given the recent gulf in class between the two sides, a home victory this weekend can be found at attractive odds.

Bet: Montreal 10/11 to beat Austin in Sunday’s MLS showdown @ 888sport
