In what could turn out to be another action-packed affair from the MLS in midweek, Montreal will host the New York Red Bulls in the early hours of Thursday.

Starting with the hosts, while Montreal might have missed out on a Final Series spot last season, Wilfried Nancy’s men have come roaring back this time around. Only continuing on what has been a stellar run of form, the Impact should find the mood in their camp at a red-hot high. Last seen over the weekend when putting in another dominant display as they cruised their way to a 2-0 victory away at Chicago, the Eastern Conference outfit are now in the midst of an eight-match domestic unbeaten run, a run that stems all the way back to July 9th. With their purple patch highlighted by a 4-0 romp against New England on August 20th, the midweek hosts have also caught the eye with their clinical displays in the final third. It should be noted, Nancy’s side have bagged 13 goals in just their last five MLS outings.

As for the visitors, managing to make a welcomed return to winning ways over the weekend, there is no doubt that New York are desperate to keep up that momentum here. Last seen picking up a deserved 3-1 victory at home against Inter Miami, Gerhard Struber’s men are cruising their way to another Final Series spot this season. However, despite mustering seven points from their last three MLS matchups, the one-time Barnsley boss has seen his side continue to struggle with their consistency. Recording just a pair of wins from their previous seven domestic contests, the Red Bulls are also seeking some much-needed resolve at the back. Suffering back-to-back 5-1 and 5-4 defeats at the hands of Orlando and Colorado last month, we’re backing a home victory in the early hours of Thursday.
