Bitesize prediction: Motherwell vs Hearts – 19/02/23

Competition: Scottish Premiership

Market: Hearts win

Odds: 5/4 @ 888sport

Simply looking to widen their buffer in the top-three this weekend, Hearts will make the trip to a struggling Motherwell on Sunday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, crashing out of the Scottish Cup last weekend following a woeful display on the road, Motherwell find themselves at the heart of a crisis. Eventually getting hit with a 3-1 loss at the hands of Championship outfit Raith, the Steelemen have now lost each of their last three domestic appearances on the bounce. Likewise, last seen on top-flight duties getting hit with another 3-1 hammering against Aberdeen, fans around Fir Park are really starting to fear that their side could face a Premiership relegation in 2023. With only their goal difference keeping them off the foot of the table, Sunday’s hosts have recorded just a single victory from any of their previous 13 straight attempts. With that run stemming all the way back to October 29th, the Lanarkshire-based outfit should face a stern test here.

As for the visitors, while Motherwell might be enduring an extended Premiership nightmare, Hearts have once again impressed many across Scotland’s top-flight. Last seen putting in another professional display as they extended on their Scottish Cup adventure thanks to a 2-0 win away at Hamilton, the Jambos should find the mood in their camp at a continued high. Securing a bronze medal finish on their top-flight return last season and in pole position to claim another European spot in 2023, Hearts should be smelling a real chance here. Likewise, last seen in Premiership action claiming a thumping 3-1 romp at home against Dundee United, Robbie Neilson’s squad have now lost just a single domestic showdown since returning from the World Cup’s winter break. Winning three of their last four meetings against Motherwell, we’re backing a similar outcome here.

Bet: Hearts 5/4 to beat Motherwell in Sunday’s Scottish Premiership matchup @ 888sport
