Bitesize Prediction: Nottingham Forest vs Bournemouth – 23/12/23

Competition: Premier League

Market: Both teams to score

Odds: 7/10 @ Pribet

Getting a new era underway on Saturday afternoon, Nottingham Forest will welcome Bournemouth to the City Ground.

Starting with the hosts, eventually slumping to a 2-0 loss at home against Champions League dreamers Tottenham last weekend, that result was enough to cost Steve Cooper his job in the Nottingham Forest hot seat. Turning to ex-Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo, the Portuguese tactician has a real job on his hands. Coming under a huge amount of scrutiny since opening up the 2023/24 campaign, they have now recorded just a single point from any of their previous six Premier League appearances. In fact, aside from a 2-0 victory against Aston Villa on November 5th, Forest are without a win from any of their other 12 straight outings – a run that stems all the way back to September 2nd. Likewise, along with notching just a single strike since opening December, Cooper’s squad have also shown some rather glaring issues on home soil. Including a 1-0 loss at the hands of Everton earlier in the month, Forest have lost all of their last three contests at the City Ground by an aggregate score of 6-2.

As for the visitors, with their showdown against Luton last weekend scrapped due to Tom Lockyer’s worrying collapse, Bournemouth will simply be excited to turn their attention back to Premier League duties here. Only continuing on what has been a remarkable resurge since returning from November’s international break, the mood in Andoni Iraola’s camp appears to be at a red-hot high. Skyrocketing their way up the table and receiving a string of plaudits, the Cherries will be smelling the chance to make another statement on Saturday afternoon. Putting in a famous performance away at Manchester United earlier in the month as they cruised their way to an iconic 3-0 romp, the former Rayo Vallecano boss has seen his squad muster 13 points from their previous five Premier League appearances. Claiming a 2-0 win against top-four contenders Newcastle last month, Bournemouth have also impressed with their clinical performances on the road. It should be highlighted, Iraola’s side have won their last three away fixtures by an aggress score of 8-1.
