Two camps who will make their respective returns from March’s International break on Sunday evening, Torino will travel to Tuscany when they meet Pisa.
Starting with the hosts, while Pisa might have only made their iconic Serie A return this season, the Nerazzurri are already planning for life back in Italy’s second-tier. Marking their return from March’s fortnight interval sat rock-bottom of the table, Oscar Hiljemark’s side are also nine points adrift of top-flight safety. Last seen putting in another nightmare display as they slumped to a 5-0 drumming at the hands of Champions League chasers Como, the Tuscany-based outfit are unsurprisingly pencilled in as the landslide relegation candidate in 2026. Despite landing a much-welcomed 3-1 victory against Cagliari last month, it appears that was just a minor boost for Pisa. Including a 4-0 defeat against Italian giants Juventus on March 7th, Sunday’s hosts have lost each of their other five Serie A appearances. With just a pair of top-flight wins to their name this season, Hiljemark’s camp have also gained a reputation for their glaring defensive struggles. It should be highlighted, the Nerazzurri have shipped 54 goals in their 30 Serie A showdowns this season and they hold the worst-defensive tally among Italy’s elite.
As for the visitors, while Torino might have opened the New Year in the midst of a Serie A flurry, the Bulls have struggled to find any real fluidity over recent times. Last seen making an immediate return to losing ways prior to March’s international break as they eventually fell to a rollercoaster 3-2 defeat away at AC Milan, Roberto D’Aversa’s side essentially find themselves sat in top-flight limbo. Signing off February with a shock 3-0 drumming against Genoa, Sunday’s guests have now won just a pair of their previous eight appearances across all competitions. Watching their Coppa Italia adventure come to an end on February 4th as they were hit with a 2-1 loss against Inter Milan, Torino have continued to show some worrying issues on the road. In fact, D’Aversa’s side have failed to win any of their last six straight showdowns outside of Turin (five defeats, one draw). It should also be highlighted, the Bulls have remarkably shipped a staggering 18 goals in those six consecutive away fixtures.
