Competition: Irish Premier Division

Market: Both teams to score – No

Odds: 7/10 @ Pribet

In what could prove to be a cagey affair from Tolk Park on Friday night, Shelbourne will welcome Derry City when this weekend’s Premier Division fixtures get underway.

Starting with the hosts, while Shelbourne might have continued on a real romp prior to June’s international break, Damien Duff’s men were last seen marking their return to top-flight duties with a downbeat display. Eventually getting hit with a toothless 1-0 loss at the hands of St. Patrick’s, the one-time Chelsea star almost finds his squad sat in Premier Division limbo. However, still impressing many across Ireland’s top-tier in 2023, the Reds have lost just a pair of their previous 14 straight appearances across all competitions – a run that stems all the way back to a 1-0 defeat against Derry back on March 31st. Hoping to claim a welcomed boost on Friday night, Shelbourne have continued to shine with their rugged performances on home soil. In fact, Duff’s men have suffered just a previous defeat from any of their last seven Premier Division showdowns at Tolka Park.

As for the visitors, although Derry might still find themselves sat in pole position to claim another silver medal finish in 2023, the Candystripes are enduring a rather public blip. Last seen making an immediate return to losing ways earlier in the week as they slumped to a costly 1-0 loss away at Derry City, Ruaidhri Higgins’s side have now claimed just a single win from any of their last six straight domestic appearances. With that extended struggle stemming all the way back to May 19th, Friday’s guests have also shown some continued issues in the final third. Along with heading into the international break with a 0-0 stalemate against Bohemians, Derry have now drawn a blank in four of those six outings. It should also be noted, forced to settle for another goalless stalemate when they welcomed Shelbourne to the Brandywell Stadium on June 2nd, we are expecting a similar outcome here.

Bet: Both teams *not* to score at Shelbourne vs Derry City 7/10 for Friday’s Irish Premier Division contest @ Pribet
